If Nicki Minaj does retire, which we only can hope does not happen , but this could affect the female rap genre as a whole despite her being blackballed and the social media cancellation. The reason being is because most or all the female rappers are heavily influenced by NickiMinaj when it comes to her looks, flows, cadence and writingย  and overall sound . Many females have spoken about how NickiMinaj has influenced them . Itโ€™s been proven time and time again when NickiMinaj moves so does the female rap genre.ย Over the years, Nicki Minaj has had several high-profile conflicts with other female rappers, especially Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and Latto. While hip-hop has always included competition and lyrical rivalry, many of these disputes became highly public through social media, interviews, and diss tracks. Each conflict developed differently, but they all reflect the competitive nature of the rap industry and the strong personalities involved.

The most famous feud involving Nicki Minaj is with Cardi B. Early in Cardiโ€™s career around 2017, people constantly compared the two artists because both were dominating female rap at the time. At first, they appeared friendly in public and even collaborated on the song โ€œMotorSportโ€ with Migos. However, rumors started circulating that there was tension behind the scenes about verses, promotion, and respect in the industry. The conflict became very public in 2018 during a party for Harperโ€™s Bazaar at New York Fashion Week. Cardi B confronted Nicki Minaj over comments she believed Nicki had made about her parenting and career. The situation escalated into a physical altercation, which quickly spread across social media and news outlets. Afterward, both artists accused each other of spreading lies and disrespect. Since then, they have largely stayed apart professionally, although the rivalry still comes up in conversations about female rap.

Nicki Minaj has also had a tense relationship with Megan Thee Stallion. Initially, the two worked together successfully on the hit song โ€œHot Girl Summerโ€ in 2019. At the time, fans thought they had a supportive friendship. However, tension appeared years later when Megan collaborated with Cardi B on the song โ€œWAP.โ€ Some fans believed Nicki felt Megan had aligned herself with someone she had a conflict with. The situation intensified in 2024 when Megan released the song โ€œHiss,โ€ which included lyrics many listeners believed were directed at Nicki Minaj. Nicki responded with a diss track called โ€œBig Foot,โ€ and the dispute quickly turned into online arguments between the artists and their fan bases. Social media played a major role in spreading the feud, with both sides analyzing lyrics and posts for hidden messages.

Nicki Minajโ€™s disagreement with Latto started differently. Latto and Nicki initially seemed supportive of each other when Lattoโ€™s career began gaining attention. However, in 2022 a disagreement about award show categories sparked an argument on social media. Nicki Minaj criticized the Grammy Awards for moving her song โ€œSuper Freaky Girlโ€ out of the rap category, arguing that if her song didnโ€™t qualify as rap, then Lattoโ€™s hit โ€œBig Energyโ€ should not either. Latto responded publicly, which led to heated exchanges on Twitter. Screenshots of private messages were also shared, making the argument even more public. Although the situation eventually cooled down, it showed how quickly professional disagreements can escalate online.

Overall, Nicki Minajโ€™s conflicts with Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and Latto highlight how competition, public attention, and social media can intensify rivalries in the music industry. While rap has always involved lyrical battles and competition for chart success, modern platforms allow fans and artists to participate in these conflicts in real time, making them more visible and sometimes more dramatic than in the past.

Doechii tells NME that NickiMinaj inspired her to start writing music: before doechii unfollowed NickiMinaj during the Megan and Nicki Minaj hiss/big foot moment.

โ€œI wrote my first song when I was in the 6th grade. I knew this girl [โ€ฆ] she put me onto Nicki Minaj and I was immediately hooked and wanted to start a group. I wanted to rap, so I wrote my first song,โ€

Ice Spice on Nicki Minaj becoming her mentor: in her interview with guardian before the text messages leaked of her talking badly about Nickiminaj in 2024.

โ€œShe be telling me to learn from her mistakes โ€“ just watching her in general, if you pay close enough attention, you gonna see what you should do. I love to talk to her about things that I canโ€™t talk about publicly โ€“ it just means so much to be able to have somebody like her.โ€

Megan thee Stallion

โ€œ I also canโ€™t believe that I collaborated with @NICKIMINAJ !!! This woman is one of the greatest to ever fucking do it ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’™  THANK YOU ๐Ÿฆ„โ€ Megan Stallion tweeted after Nickiminaj hopped on the hot girl summer song in 2019.

Currently the state of female rap is not active as it once was. We have a lot of female rappers but not as many hit records. Cardi made some noise with outside which dropped last year with her second album โ€˜Am I the dramaโ€™ but it did not generate the same buzz as โ€˜Invasion of privacyโ€™ and Bodak Yellow which both debut at #1 on billboard. Outside did debut at #10 on the hot 100 but unfortunately did not stay in the top 10 . But it seems as though the culture is missing the really big culture reset like Super Bass, Wap and Super Freaky Girl .

Now Yk niece and glorilla  have  been making waves with โ€˜Take me thru dereโ€™ and โ€˜Yeah Gloโ€™ but those songs are not big enough to be considered a culture reset . Without Nicki Minaj continuing to set the standard and trends to follow the  female rap genre will slowly die .
